Five District 211 schools have been nationally recognized by the United States Department of Education as Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence. Palatine's two high schools, William Fremd and Palatine High, were named among the nation's top 99 high schools by U.S. News and World Report, while District 211 was recognized as one of the country's best school districts by Expansion Management Magazine, a corporate relocation publication.
